my first fashion design business started at the age of 13, it was called AHHA- Allison Hall-Heather Allen designs. my father was in the textile industry and we were always getting fabric samples shipped to the house. all sorts of crazy, wild patterns meant for covering couches. my best friend heather allen and i set up shop in the basement with my mother's sewing machine- which we didn't know how to use very well. we started making clothing and handbags. i would wear them to school and choir practices (Youth Singers of Calgary) and we started taking orders !! our young clients loved the originality of the clothing and we were really excited to have started our own little business.
My father has been a huge influence on my life as an entrepreneur and fashion maven. He introduced me to the art of style for men. The Tie. Everymorning before school he would come down the stairs freshly shaven with a button up shirt and of course wearing, the tie. I love to see a tie on a man, worn loosely it can be very sexy !!
